The Full Process

The 10-Step Drywall Clinic Job Standard

Every step listed below is performed on every job. This is not aspirational — it is our operational standard.

1
🚗

Arrival & Professional Welcome

We arrive within the confirmed appointment window — in uniform, in a branded vehicle. We introduce ourselves to the homeowner, confirm the scope of the work, and do a brief walk-through before a single tool is unpacked. We never start work before the customer is comfortable with the plan.

What to expect: On-time arrival, professional introduction, confirmed scope.
2
🔍

Site Walk & Full Scope Assessment

Before any work begins, we walk every area of concern with the customer. We actively look for damage that may not have been visible in photos — additional holes, water staining, texture damage adjacent to the primary repair. Any additions to scope are quoted and approved before we proceed.

What to expect: Thorough walk-through, transparent communication about anything found.
3
🛡

Pre-Job Site Protection

Drop cloths are laid on all floors in the work area. Plastic sheeting is applied to furniture and any adjacent surfaces that could receive dust or debris. The HEPA extraction system is unpacked, positioned, and turned on before the first cut or sanding pass.

What to expect: Full protective setup before work begins — not halfway through.
4
📷

Pre-Job Photo Documentation

We photograph every repair area in its original condition before work begins. This protects you and us — it establishes the baseline, documents what was repaired, and allows us to demonstrate the quality of the finished work with a before/after comparison.

What to expect: Before photos on file for every repair area.
5
⚙️

Damage Assessment & Prep

We cut back to solid, structurally sound drywall around the damaged area. Any backing needed to support the repair panel is installed. We do not apply compound over compromised or soft drywall material. For water damage, we use a moisture meter to confirm the area reads below 12% before proceeding — wet drywall cannot be repaired, only replaced.

What to expect: Thorough preparation, moisture check on any water-related damage.
6
🔧

Repair Execution — Multi-Coat Compound

Professional drywall repair requires multiple coats of compound, each allowed to cure fully before the next is applied. Our standard process: (1) Setting compound fill coat — for structural fill of the repair area; (2) All-purpose compound — block coat feathered 4–6" beyond the repair edge; (3) Lightweight finish compound — feathered 8–12" for invisible blending; (4) Spot coat if required. Rushing dry times is the primary cause of cracking and visible repairs. We never rush.

What to expect: Multiple coats, proper dry times, professional execution.
7
💨

Sanding with HEPA Extraction Running

All sanding is performed with HEPA extraction actively running — not just nearby. The extraction equipment is integrated with our sanding tools, capturing dust at the source before it becomes airborne. The system runs continuously throughout every sanding pass. Your home's air stays clean.

What to expect: Zero drywall dust in your home. Zero.
8
🎨

Primer & Texture Restoration

After final sanding, PVA primer is applied to the repaired surface to seal it and prepare it for texture. We then match your existing wall texture — orange peel, knockdown, skip trowel, smooth skim coat, or hand trowel — using the appropriate application technique and tools. We use professional spray equipment and joint compound for texture, not aerosol spray cans.

What to expect: Primer applied, texture matched precisely to your existing wall.

🔦

Quality Inspection — The Raking Light Test

Before asking the homeowner to approve the work, we perform a raking light quality inspection. A flashlight held parallel to the wall surface reveals any imperfections — ridges, low spots, seam edges, texture inconsistencies — that are completely invisible under normal overhead lighting. If we see anything that doesn't meet our standard, we correct it before the walk-through. The customer never sees a failed inspection result.

What to expect: Internal quality check before customer walk-through — every time.
10

Customer Walk-Through, Cleanup & Warranty

We walk every repair with the homeowner using the same raking light technique, so they can see exactly what we see. All protective covering is removed and disposed of. The work area is thoroughly cleaned — vacuumed, wiped down, and returned to its pre-job state. We issue the written warranty card with the job reference number. The invoice is settled. The job is complete.

What to expect: Walk-through, spotless cleanup, written warranty card, done.

The 5 Non-Negotiables — On Every Job

HEPA extraction always deployed • Protective covering always laid • Texture matched to existing surface • Site left cleaner than found • 1-year written warranty card issued on every job. These five standards apply regardless of job size, ticket value, or location.

After the Repair

Paint Add-On & Extended Warranty

🖌

Paint Add-On — Return Visit

After your repair cures (minimum 24 hours — longer in humid conditions), we return to paint the restored area. We offer localized touch-up painting and full-wall painting.

Best result: Full-wall painting produces the most seamless color blend. We always recommend it when color consistency is important.

🛡

3-Year Extended Warranty

Extend your standard 1-year warranty to 3 full years. Add it at time of booking for $35–$55 depending on repair tier.

At $35–$55, a 3-year warranty is exceptional peace of mind — especially on ceiling repairs and water damage restorations where the original cause can sometimes recur.
